INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF SUSTAINABLE TOURISM: OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES IN SUSTAINABLE TOURIST DESTINATIONS MANAGEMENT

In the framework of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for development, it took place on November 28 and 29, the INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF SUSTAINABLE TOURISM: OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES IN SUSTAINABLE TOURIST DESTINATIONS MANAGEMENT. The event was organized by Swisscontact and Acotur with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota, the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, COMUNITUR, among others.

Jorge Moller, representative of the GSTC for Chile and a member of the Board of Directors, visits Colombia for the first time and he talks about tourist certifications and the challenges that destinations have to face in order to achieve quality in tourism.

With the participation of entities such as the Vice Ministry of Tourism, the Externado de Colombia University, representatives from public and private institutions of the tourism sector; the Forum was conducted with success and it covered subjects related with sustainability, certifications, experiences of Latin America and Colombia, destinations management, quality, among other.
